I don't want to grow up, but it's too late

Sometimes life gets hard, but we just have to keep pressing forward! We are in this together! This poem is a twist on common sayings put into poetry. Because everything sounds better when it rhymes!

I don't want to grow up, but it's too late

By: Kori Plett

I don't want to adult anymore,

You never know what's in store.

I don't want to grow up, but it's too late,

I guess that's what they call fate.

It's a crazy world that we see,

Yet they say we can be anything we want to be.

I just want to hide in a book,

But the future can't wait, I guess I'll take a look.

This world can be a crazy place,

Sometimes it feels like one big race.

I know that God has a plan,

But why does life sometimes feel like a scam?

They say when one door closes, another one opens,

I'm starting to run out of tokens.

It sure had been a bumpy ride,

Sometimes in a fort I just want to hide.

My life is in God's hands,

They say he understands.

Sometimes I think my angel has fallen,

I guess I have to keep listening to Jesus calling.

I'll always be a kid at heart,

Each new day is a fresh start.

I don't want to grow up, but I guess it's too late,

We only get one life, so make it great!
