A season of Lent, a time to repent:

I wrote this in preparation for the season of Lent which begins today. The time we reflect on Jesus going into the desert for 40 days and 40 nights in preparation for his death on the cross. It's also in reflection of the current season of my life, as I have been laid up for quite awhile. I'm grateful to have had the surgery for my bulging disk, now just waiting for the pain to go away.
A season of Lent, a time to repent:
By: Kori Plett
There are many seasons of life,
Some may cut like a knife.
It may feel like we are walking alone,
But focus on God's love, the greatest ever known.
It might seem as though you are walking in scorching sand,
But keep your eyes focused on the promise land.
The wind might be a fierce howl,
But got is there watching over like a night owl.
You might feel like giving up,
But please keep going, focus on filling your cup.
It's ok to ask for the things you need,
Sometimes you have to water your own seed.
Don't dwell on the past, it's not worth reliving,
Whatever you do; don't stop believing.
The best days are yet to be had,
There is always something for which to be glad!
Reflection question:
What is a current struggle in your life?
What is something you are grateful for?
